"Tradition Doesn't Graduate"
PrepVolleyball.com released it's list of the top high school sophomore players in the nation. The list contained 421 players that were recognized for their contributions to their varsity teams during the 2010 season. Clear Creek's Ashley Smith and Courtney Richardson were 2 of the 14 Texas players that were listed within the top 149 players on the list. Ashley was selected as an outside hitter on the Soph 79 list which recognized the top 79 players and Courtney was selected as a setter on the Highest Honorable Mention list that recognized the next 70 players.

"Natalie Piznar named to Defensive Dandy List": 5/20/2011
Courtney Richardson, Setter, finished the season as the #4 setter in Texas on the CBS Sport's MaxPreps assists rankings. She accumulated 1432 assists and averaged 10.3 assists/set on her way to setting a school record and being only 1 of 3 Texas setters to reach the 1400 mark this season. She also had 36 aces, 203 digs, 21 kills and 13 blocks on her way to being named to the All-District and All-Galveston County teams. She was named as an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Texas Player of the Week and was an Honorable Mention for the LonestarVolleyball.com's 2010 Texas Best Setter Award.
Ashley Smith, OH, set a school record with 589 kills and finished #27 in CBS Sport's MaxPreps Texas rankings with her 4.2 kills/set. She also accumulated 384 digs, 68 aces and 31 blocks. She was a 2010 pre-Season All Greater Houston Top 30 Player, Memorial Herman Hospital Player of the Week and selected to the All-Tournament team at the Spring Branch ISD tournament. She was a member of the All-District and All-Galveston County teams as well as being voted by her teammates as the Co-Most Valuable Player on the Wildcat team.
Natalie Piznar, Libero, finished the season ranked #9 in Texas on the CBS Sport's MaxPreps Digs rankings. She accumulated 694 digs for an average of 5.0 digs/set while posting a 2.61 passing index score (3.0 max). Natalie served 52 aces while being named to the All-District and All-Galveston County teams. She was voted as the Wildcat Hustle Award recipient by her teammates. Natalie was also selected to PrepVolleyball.com's Defensive Dandies which recognized her as one of the top 78 high school defensive players in the nation.

Clear Creek Wildcat, Ashley Smith, has verbally committed to play collegiate volleyball at Texas Christian University when she graduates in 2013. The 6'1" junior outside hitter has been a three year starter for Clear Creek and is currently ranked as one of the top 2 outside hitters in Texas in kills, kill percentage and hitting efficiency.
